Dan Rosensweig
President and CEO, RedOctane
Dan Rosensweig currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of RedOctane, the business unit which develops the blockbuster Guitar Hero® franchise. In this role, Mr. Rosensweig oversees Guitar Hero’s global operations including game development, hardware manufacturing, supply chain, logistics and marketing.
Mr. Rosensweig brings significant experience to Activision having served as Chief Operating Officer of Yahoo! from 2002 through 2006, where he oversaw the company’s worldwide operations including its product development, marketing, and advertising sales and the development and introduction of inventive new Internet advertising formats.
Prior to Yahoo!, Mr. Rosensweig spent 18 years at Ziff Davis, most recently serving as President where he was responsible for the global operations of the company and the successful merger of ZDNet and CNET. He held several senior positions during his tenure at Ziff-Davis, including President and Chief Executive Officer of ZDNet, which he built from a standalone Ziff-Davis company to a publicly traded, highly trafficked Internet network, President of Ziff-Davis Internet Publishing Group and Vice-President and Publisher of PC Magazine.
Before joining Activision, from 2007 – 2009, Mr. Rosensweig served as an operating principal at Quadrangle Group, a private investment firm, where he focused on the firm’s media and communications private equity business.

Kai Huang
Co-Founder
Kai Huang is a co-founder of RedOctane and has been the President and CEO since 1999. Publishers of the popular Guitar Hero franchise, RedOctane was acquired by Activision in June 2006.
Prior to RedOctane, Mr. Huang was co-founder and CEO of Adux Software, a software company developing solutions for the server appliance market. Adux Software was sold in 1999. From July 1994 to August 1998, Mr. Huang was a consultant with Accenture where he worked with Fortune 500 clients in the area of supply chain management. Mr. Huang holds a BA in computer science from the University of California at Berkeley.

Charles Huang
Vice President Business Development and Co-Founder
Charles Huang is a co-founder of RedOctane and currently serves as the EVP of Business Development, responsible for new game ventures, hardware product development and manufacturing. RedOctane was founded by Mr. Huang and his brother Kai in 1999. Later that year the company launched the world’s first online video game rental service. In 2005, the company published Guitar Hero, the first release in a series of critically acclaimed hits from the fastest growing videogame franchise ever. Prior to RedOctane, Mr. Huang co-founded Adux Software, a software company developing solutions for the server appliance market. Adux Software was sold in 1999. Mr. Huang holds a BA’s in Economics and Asian Studies from the University of California at Berkeley.
In 2006, Mr. Huang, along with his brother Kai, was elected as one of the top 50 producers in New Media by the Producers Guild of American New Media Council membership which includes such famed movie directors as Jerry Bruckheimer and Brian Grazer. The award was created to acknowledge the contribution of individuals that are creating opportunities for content to be produced and distributed in a digital format.
Mr. Huang immigrated to California as a young child and currently resides in Silicon Valley with his wife and two daughters.

Will Kassoy
Senior Vice President, Head of Publishing, RedOctane
Will Kassoy currently serves as Senior Vice President, Head of Publishing at RedOctane. In this role, Mr. Kassoy oversees all global brand management activities and contributes to the company’s slate development. Prior to this, Mr. Kassoy has held a variety of leadership positions in global brand management. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President, Global Brand Management for Activision Publishing, leading Activision’s marketing organization inclusive of global brand management, research, marketing communications and business development.
Before joining Activision, Mr. Kassoy was employed by The Walt Disney Company – Disney Consumer Products where he held leadership positions in various business units including Disney Interactive, Disney Publishing, Finance and Brand Management. Before joining Disney, Mr. Kassoy worked in Paris, France as a consultant for a firm specializing in artificial intelligence and expert systems. Mr. Kassoy began his career at Capitol Records/EMI in Hollywood, CA.
Mr. Kassoy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics/Business from the University of California Los Angeles.

Laird Malamed
Senior Vice President, Production
Laird M. Malamed currently serves as Senior Vice President, Production at RedOctane. In this role he oversees all aspects of production – Software, Hardware and Manufacturing/Supply Chain.
Prior to this role, Mr. Malamed has held a variety of roles at Activision Publishing since joining the company in January 1995, serving most recently as Head of Production. Before Activision, Mr. Malamed worked as a Sound Editor at Sony Pictures Entertainment in Culver City, CA and LucasFilm Ltd. in Nicasio, CA. Mr. Malamed holds a joint Bachelor of Science degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Aeronautical & Astronautical Engineering and Film & Media Studies. He attended the Graduate School of Cinema-Television at the University of Southern California.
